The Office of the Defense Attaché within the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Bucharest represents the Netherlands Ministry of Defense in Romania . The Defence Attaché is also accredited to Bulgaria . The Defense Attaché is the primary contact for issues concerning the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom of the Netherlands . Among his main tasks are:

• to keep contact with the Romanian military and industrial representatives for issues concerning the Royal Netherlands Air Force, Army, Navy and Marechaussee;

• to keep political and military officials in the Netherlands Ministry of Defense and the Headquarters of all Armed Forces informed of the developments and trends in the Defense issues of Romania;

• to maintain close contact with the representatives of the Romanian Armed Forces and foreign Defense, Military, Naval and Air Attachés accredited in Romania.
