The Netherlands
The Kingdom of the Netherlands consists of three parts: the Netherlands in Western Europe, the Caribbean islands of the Netherlands Antilles, and the Caribbean island of Aruba. The European part of the Kingdom has an area of 41.526 km². And with almost 16 million inhabitants, it is one of the world's most densely populated countries.
The Netherlands is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system. For historical reasons, the seat of the government is The Hague, but Amsterdam is the capital city. The head of state is Her Majesty Queen Beatrix.
The Netherlands is best known for its tulips, windmills, and clogs - all of which you're bound to see when you visit our country. As you travel through this green landscape, you'll be surprised at the variety it has to offer.
